rsl funerals service vietnam veterans rememberance the last post
Families of ex-servicemen and women are given the
option of having a Remembrance Service incorporated
into the Funeral Service.
This normally involves having selected members of an Association attend the funeral.
At an allocated time during the service, they are called upon to conduct the
Tribute which includes a reciting of the ode, placement of poppies on the casket
and the playing of the Last Post and Reveille.
A flag symbolizing the deceased persons service,
(navy/army/airforce)
is laid over the coffin in the traditional way.
We obtain a 'certificate of service' from the Australian War Memorial
which has details of enlistment, rank and service number.
This is presented to the family on conclusion of service.
We generally call upon members of the
'Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia, St. Marys Outpost Sub Branch'
to conduct the service but we support all clubs associated with our
veterans of war and you may nominate your preferred club to conduct the tribute.

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We Will Remember Them

'Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia- St. Marys Outpost Sub Branch'
We are very proud of our association with these people. They're a tremendous team
who voluntarily provide their time & support to ex-soldiers & their families.
Although primarily an association of Vietnam Veterans,
the Sub-Branch also provides assistance to Australian veterans of other conflicts,
serving members of Australia's armed forces & veterans of allied forces.
Support provided ranges from basic entitlement advice,
claims assistance & advocacy services.
Most clubs and associations in this league will offer a similar service to this.
